A Narrower Gap

A long overdue post!

June 22nd, 2009

So, it’s been quite awhile, and this blog has lay neglected for far, far too long. Although we’ve been busy, steadily adding features to Humanis and plotting out the next big update, we’ve been quiet about what we’ve been up to. This changes now!

Our latest release has a theme, something that’s kind of taken hold here as a driving force and something that I think will be a great benefit to our software and, as an extension, to you. That theme is a single word: simplify.

Software grows as people request features and improvements are made. More tabs, more menu items, more buttons… these things all add new abilities, but they also add more confusion and take more time to figure things out. More clicks to get to where you want to be, and more clutter that gets in the way of understanding. Well, we’ve been actively fighting against that and you’ll be amazed at the results.

I’ll give you one little teaser: we’ve removed no less than SEVEN tabs from the Applicant module, without losing any functionality at all. This takes two rows of tabs and reduces it to just one. I’ll keep exactly how we managed this a secret for now, but that gives you a taste of what I mean when I say simplify.
